1.0 MEMBERS OF THE DELEGATION

2.0 ARRIVAL OF THE DELEGATION (TEAM)                  

The members arrived at exactly 6:20 am. We were met at the entrance of the school by the school Chaplain (Father Charles) and the Assistant headmaster (Mr. Baah). They welcomed members of the delegation to the school. After the necessary exchanges, members decided to move round the school for brief inspection of some facilities. We moved to the chapel and the maths and science quiz rehearsal room ( former samaamoo room). It took the group 25 minutes to go round to inspect the above facilities.

3.0 SCHOOL ACTIVITIES FOR THE DAY

The school authorities began their usual morning assembly at exactly 6:45 am. They led the students to say their morning prayers and National Anthem. The senior house master then came in, he gave various announcements to the students. The key among the announcement was the one that all of us are familiar with. That is, he warned those who were owing school fees and other bills to settle them before the commencement of their end of term examination (12/03/2015) to avoid any embarrassment. After that the students were informed about our presence.

 

4.0 INTRODUCTION OF THE TEAM                                            

The Assistant headmaster took the opportunity to welcomed the team once again and introduced us to the students. He mentioned our names, numbers together with our professions. For each name, number and profession, we received applauds from the students.

 

5.0 PURPOSE OF THE VISIT      

Mr. Baah, the Assistant headmaster informed the students about our mission. He told them that, the team was in to present to the school a gift (TV SET AND ACCESSORIES). He added that the team members were all AR GROUP MEMBERS that completed in 1993. With the mentioned of the year alone, it took about a minute for the students to calm down from shouting and jubilation. Then after that, he moved on to say that the year group members including the team had thought it wise to present the TV set and it accessories to their alma mata for smooth running of school entertainment. He then called upon the leader of the delegation to make a speech to the students.

 

6.0 SPEECH BY THE LEADER OF THE DELEGATION                  

Mr. Amoah, informed the students, school authorities, and members of staff present that, 'before the Christmas, a team from AR group came to see the school authorities and had discussions concerning the areas that they can liaise and help as old boys. He said that the team after the discussions went back and discussed with the entire group. He added that, for the entire group to show their commitment to the school, they agreed to purchase TV set and it accessories to present as a token gift to the school to aid students in order to enjoy entertainment. At this juncture, the students once again gave us a very long applauds for our gift. He also advised them to make good use of the set and the accessories and employ the necessary maintenance culture towards the set. In addition, he urged them to study hard and be always adopt to discipline behaviour in all their endeavour. Finally, he promised them that, the group will definitely come back again to embark on the big project that they have in mind.

 

7.0 PRESENTATION OF THE TV AND ACCESSORIES                

Mr. Amoah presented the gift to the headmaster, Mr. F.M. Mensah at exactly 7:15:19 am. He in turned to exchange greetings with the team to officially thank the AR group for the special gift to the school.

 

 

8.0 HEADMASTER'S SPEECH      

The headmaster used the occasion to thank AR Group for all that they have done to the school. He said, ' I am completely surprise for what you have done to the school and promise that all that you have presented to the school this morning will be put into good use'. He was happy about the gift and said that the set and it accessories will help the students during their entertainment and also football matches. He also urged the students to appreciate the tremendous efforts put up by old boys to help their alma mata and learn from it. He advised them not to forget about the school when they complete their courses. Mr. Mensah also used the occasion to inform the team about one of the students who was adjudged best student in WASSCE. And will be going to Accra together with the student for the award. He then called the school prefect to thank us.

 

9.0 THE SCHOOL PREFECT SPEECH.                                        

The school prefect thanked Almighty God and the team (AR Group) for the gift. He promised that they will put the TV and Accessories into good use.

 

10.0 CONCLUSION                      

Assistant headmaster came in once again to announce to the students who were so lucky to have their senior numbers around to come and interact with them. Then after that Father Charles asked the student to bless us with Owass anthem:

 

"In manus tuas, Domine, commendo spiritum meum

Redimisti, Deus Veritatis

In manus tuas, Domine, commendo spiritum meum

Gloria Patria, et Filio, et Spiritus Sanctus

In manus tuas, Domine, commendo spiritum meum"

                                                                                                                                      

After the anthem, Rev. Father Charles came in to bless us finally. And headmaster too, once again expressed his profound gratitude to us for our gift. They officially closed the assembly to allow the students to go back to their various class rooms for teaching to start.

11.0 INTERACTION WITH STUDENTS (WHO SENIOR NUMBERS WERE AROUND)      

They came around and we interacted with them, gave them some advice to study hard. We gave them something for their pocket. I was lucky all of them (182) came.

 

12.0 DEPARTURE OF THE TEAM FROM OWASS.                

After a fruitful interaction with our junior numbers, we departed around 7:45 am to our various destinations.

 

13.0 FEEDBACK                          

The headmaster has asked me to provide the school with postal address for them to use to write us officially to show their appreciation and also put a copy on a file. Some of our pictures were circulated on the social media. According to Mr. Baah (assistant) it has encouraged BS group to initiate a project on campus. He said that they came in last Friday to inform the school about the area that they want to help, that is to construct summer hat to provide shades for visitors.
